Lyons Township High School approves $85 million budget with $1.9 million deficit

Employee benefits are forecast to rise 10.3 percent to $10.6 million, reflecting a $500,000 increase in the cost of medical insurance and a higher contribution rate to the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund. Effective Jan. 1, the district’s contribution to the retirement fund will rise from 10.7 percent to 17 percent, which amounts to an additional $350,000.
